Getting Started with Google Plus
Lately, I’ve been getting more and more into Google+, to the point of evangelizing it. I have no problem getting someone who hasn’t given it a try or heard of Google+ yet to give it a go, but I do get quite a bit of push-back and a ton of questions from people who have invested a lot of time in Facebook.
First, I want to say that I don’t think Google+ is a replacement for Facebook or Twitter, it’s very different from both, with strong similarities. There are large benefits to Google+ over Facebook, just as Facebook and Twitter have large benefits over Google+. Instead of outlining the differences and turning this into a contest, I would urge anyone who signed up and failed to get into it, or anyone who has simply ignored it, to give this post a read, and spend a few minutes getting to know Google+.
What’s the worst that could happen? You make a few thousand new friends and they give you a different perspective on things? Sounds dreadful. I’m loving it so far.
